VIRTV-S AVGG / P - R / R Q Campgate with open doors and four turrets. RIC -. Apparently unique and with a beautiful campgate. Slightly smoothed and with minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, good very fine.

From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, formed since 1969.

This unique piece is the only known example of this type from officina Q, showing a finely detailed gate. The gate type 'four turrets, open doors' is one of the rarer gate reverses. RIC listed a total of 14 coins of this type, all rated R5, for all rulers. Today 50 examples are known, 34 in private hands, of which 24 are in the Ramskold Collection. The type was struck for all rulers, but no type is known from more than eight examples.
